Why is an RDP connection to a VM failing in a Learn lab exercise?

Question

In Microsoft Learn DP-300 Lab 1 (Provision SQL Virtual machine), the RDP connection fails to initialize.

• The lab is started in the labondemand.com "sandbox"
• I created the VM, as instructed.
• Attempts to connect via RDP hang on "Initializing".

See screenshot. I tried 4-5 times over the past several days. All diagnostic tests appear fine.

This might relevant: I suspect all my internet traffic is "front-runned" by hackers who placed me into a "container" and impersonate me in an elaborate "man-in-the-middle" situation.
