Why WSA use my microphone slicent?
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to provide feedback on the Windows Subsystem for Android (WSA) while using Windows 11.
First and foremost, I'd like to express my appreciation for the innovative direction Microsoft has taken with the introduction of WSA. The integration of Android apps on the Windows platform has undoubtedly paved the way for enhanced user experiences and has broadened the horizon of what's possible on a PC.
However, I recently encountered an issue that has raised some concerns regarding privacy. On multiple occasions,Today while working on my Windows 11 system, I noticed the microphone activation icon in the taskbar, indicating that the microphone was in use. Upon investigation, it appeared that the source of this activation was WSA. What's perplexing is that I had not launched WSA during those times, and yet it seemed to have accessed my microphone. A subsequent check into the microphone's access history showed that over the past week, there were three such activations from WSA without my knowledge. Within the WSA settings, I noticed it was set to 'Partial Start' for memory and performance modes.
For context, I have only one open-source software installed within WSA, which I am fairly confident is secure and reputable.
Given the sensitivity surrounding microphone access and user privacy, this unexpected behavior from WSA is quite unsettling. I understand that software can have bugs or unintended behaviors, but I believe it's crucial for users to feel confident in the privacy measures in place, especially for such an integral part of the system.
I kindly request that this feedback be taken into consideration and investigated further. I truly believe in the potential of WSA and would love to continue using it with the reassurance that my privacy is being upheld to the highest standards.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
