    Hi Brian,

First under networking, check that you are connected to a NIC. If you are using VPN, then connect to the Private NIC. If you have a public NIC IP, the do following:

You must add the port 3389 to Networking:

    Go to Networking

    User's image

Go to Add inbound port rule

    User's image

Add My IP Address as Source

    User's image

    Choose service as RDP

    User's image

    Press Save

    Hello @Brian Troemel,

Welcome to the MS Q&A forum.

Besides opening the port on NSG as @Dillon Silzer suggested above, you need to make sure what you properly prepared server to migrate to Azure and what on-premises machines that you replicate to Azure comply with Azure VM requirements.

It's important to make these changes before you begin migration. If you migrate the VM before you make the change, the VM might not boot up in Azure, or you may not be able to connect. In additional, please review Windows changes here you need to make.

Hope above answers your question and concern. Let me know if you need additional assistance. If the answer was helpful, please accept it and complete the quality survey so that others can find a solution.

    Sincerely,
    Olga
