When licensing Thin Clients through Microsoft 365 E3, the need for an additional Windows OS/ VDA add-on license is eliminated, as the VDA use right is inherently encompassed within the Microsoft 365 E3 subscription. To leverage the VDA use right embedded in Microsoft 365 E3 effectively, several prerequisites must be satisfied.

The Thin Clients must be operating on a compatible and supported operating system. These Thin Clients should be seamlessly integrated with a recognized hypervisor. You must maintain an active and valid Microsoft 365 E3 subscription. Once these conditions are met, the installation and operation of Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise on your Thin Clients can proceed.

The VDA use right bundled with Microsoft 365 E3 exclusively applies to Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise and is not applicable to running other software on Thin Clients. It's crucial to understand that the VDA use right is user-centric, not device-specific. Each user accessing Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise on a Thin Client is required to hold a valid Microsoft 365 E3 subscription.
