Sharepoint Lists filtering when multiple selections allowed

Hello, I have a column in my SharePoint list that lists a number of different choices. As there is more than one choice required, I have allowed multiple selections. The question I have is that when I want to filter that column by one of the choices it also shows the other choices of that particular row.

For example:

The Sharepoint list is a contact list for clients, and I have set one column as a 'communications category' which is to filter the contacts per the contacts category that is applied. For example, one client might have 'General comms', "CEO Group' and 'Urgent issues" selected. Then we can filter the client group according to the comms required. When I want to show only those with 'general comms' selected, it only shows the clients with that choice, which is great, but it also shows all the other choices for the particular client. How can I have a filter that only shows 'General comms" and not the other selections for that client?

SharePoint's filter works for the entire item.

So, it cannot only show "General comms" selection for that particular item. All selections in the multiple choices column for that particular item will show.
