how to add a formula in the Input Message of Data Validation in Excel

Hi all,

We have many columns whose cells have length limit. We hope during typing, users can get a kind of reminder about the number of letters still within the limit. the right place looks like to be the Input Message in the Data validation section and the question is how to write a formula inside of the Input Message box to tell how many letters are still allowed to input.
