IMAP-like System with Folders/Subscriptions in Exchange

Hello,

i work in a small company with 8 people. Currently we are using a IMAP-Server and Thunderbird but we want to switch to an Exchange-Server and Outlook.

I can't find any information, so here's my question: is it possible on a exchange server to create a folder-structure like on our IMAP-Server were every person has the possibility to subscribe single folders. So that he/she only sees emails that are related to the projects that the person works on.

the possibility to form groups (outlook best practice guide) is not an option because the people work in different constellations on one project.

so it there an option for a folder/subscription-solution when using exchange or do i have a stuck mindset and missed something?

Any help (guides, videos, q&a entries) is highly appreciated. English is not my mothertongue so i apologize for the spelling mistakes

Thank you very much in advance

    Hi @Martin K,

Thanks for posting in our Q&A forum.

To create a folder structure like the one you described, you can use Exchange Web Services (EWS) to develop folders and items in Exchange. You can create different types of folders in EWS, such as email message folders, calendar folders, contact folders, and search folders. Please refer to: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/client-developer/exchange-web-services/folders-and-items-in-ews-in-exchange
