installing vs 2017/2019 extension for visual studio 2022

I am trying to download an extension for visual studio 2022. From what I see, this extension is for visual studio 2017/2019. How can I update this to work for the new visual studio?

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

You cannot install or use the extension which is only for Visual Studio 2017/2019 for Visual Studio 2022. If the extension doesn’t have a corresponding edition which works for Visual Studio 2022, then it means it doesn’t support Visual Studio 2022.

How can I update this to work for the new Visual Studio?

Normally, updating it to work for the new VS is not a job for the users, as something like the code of the extension maybe need to be modified.

Please kindly follow David’s instructions and contact the author of the extension to confirm if there’s a corresponding extension edition which works for VS 2022.
