Exchange Server 2019

I have two 'Distribution Groups' called Batch22 and Batch23, each containing related members of students, When teachers and staff send an email to a group and that email requires to be replied to by students individually, the student as a group member will 'Reply to all' as normal, but the problem he will get a copy of sent email as he a group member!

One thing more, The other group members (The student's colleagues) are received also a copy from each other during "Reply to all", and this action is not required at all.

I know he can just delete the group address during "Reply to all", but I'm looking to create a method in Exchange Server 2019 to let this action happen automatically.

So, How do eliminate a sender from getting a copy of his own message and keep replying to other receivers (who are initially the senders as teachers and staff)?

Thanks.

    Hi @Abu-Elnass

    This is an expected behavior.

Instead of manually deleting group addresses, you can also consider using inbox and sweep rules to achieve this, but as an administrator this may be cumbersome, which requires adding this rule for each user.

    1. grant the full access permission of the user to you:
    2. open the user’s mailbox:

sign in to your owa (outlook.office365.com/owa) page, click the photo button on the upper right, click open another mailbox, type in the email address of the user’s mailbox.

    1. set up an inbox rule for the user:
        a. after entering the owa page of the user, click the gear icon on the upper right, then click options.

        b. click mail-> automatic processing -> inbox and sweep rules, under “when the message arrives, and it matches all of these conditions” option, select it was received from, and choose the mailbox of the user. then click “add condition”, select it was sent to choose the email address of the distribution group.

        c. under “do all of the following” option, select “delete the message”.

       d. clicks ok.
