Launch VBA Macro from Word Add-n Task Pane button

There are a number of Word document settings which can be controlled manually, but the Word JS api does not support these specific capabilities. However, the settings can be controlled using Word VBA Macros. I would like to be able to launch a macro from a task pane button to run these macros from the Word Add-in task pane. Ideas?
