What type of email provider is configured as an IMAP account (Outlook.com, Gmail, Yahoo, etc.)？
The problem encountered when configuring IMAP email account in Outlook may be incorrect server settings, incorrect password, or authentication method.
If you're using a non-Microsoft account, you may need to contact your email provider for information such as their port settings.
For Microsoft accounts, Outlook and Outlook.com may be able to automatically detect your account's mailbox settings. The following figure shows the port information of outlook.com account configured as IMAP. More information, see：POP, IMAP, and SMTP settings for Outlook.com - Microsoft Support.
