Is Microsoft's App Certification for applications published to teams marketplace compulsory?

My org has an application which is already published to teams marketplace. Is it compulsory to complete the Microsoft 365 App Certification for my application? Does the app gets decommissioned/removed from the teams marketplace if we fail to pursue this app certification?
