I have two machines going into a BENFEI HDMI 1.4V 2 to 1 splitter. Theres a button you just push to toggle between input 1 and 2. The output goes to a 24" Dell monitor.

One input is a machine that dual boots fedora linux and Mac OSX Ventura. The other input is my main machine thats a Dell Precision tower with Windows 10 on it. On the dual boot machine if I'm in fedora linux it seems fine and I can switch back and forth. Once it boots into Mac OS though, if I click my HDMI switcher back I get no signal from my windows pc at all. I cannot RDP to it either I get error 0x108 after sitting on the connection screen for awhile on the RD Client IOS app on my phone.

The only way to get video back is to hold the power button down. The machine is working I just cant interact with it locally or via RDP. Its still serving files over SMB and the Plex server on it works fine. So the machine itself isnt frozen. When I hard reboot it I check application event log and I see this:

And these 4 Application Event ID's cycle in a loop every 2 to 5 seconds until the machine is rebooted.

The machine is fine as long as the other pc is off, not plugged into the hdmi switch or not in mac os. I can plug a cable box in and tune to an HD channel at 1080i and switch back and forth no problem, the signal from the cable box into the HDMI switch doesn't backfeed and interfere with Windows 10.

Any idea why this would happen and why of all things Remote Desktop stops working? If RDP still worked in this situation I could maybe go into services.msc and restart DWM or just use the pc remote from the other pc or my phone. Its really just for file and plex services since its a tower and has room for all the hard drives. The other machine is a mini and not much bigger than a small set top box.

    Hi,

I have a similar problem, with the same error code and type 4. I don't know what it means.
In my case, my computer freezes completely with background sounds in some videos that I've watched (I meant by that sound isnt affected while this freeze is happening and then it resets by it own, or by me) I checked in Event View and found one critical issue, named Kernel-Power 41. I thought that it could be some issue with my graphics card, but it never overheated or had any problems with it or the screens. I have already removed the graphic drivers using the DDU app and obtained newer ones.
