Outlook for iOS shows non-existing folders

My Outlook app (version 4.2334.1) on iOS 16.6.1 shows folders and subfolders that do not (no longer) exist on the local Exchange server. I do not use Microsoft 365. None of the folders is being displayed in OWA nor in Outlook on Windows. The person who is in charge of administer the local Exchange server and the Windows installation does not have an idea what could be causing the problem. An installation of Outlook on macOS using the respective email account does not exist.

Neither resetting the account in Outlook for iOS solves the problem, nor deleting the account in Outlookk for iOS, nor deleting and reinstalling the app with a restart of the iPhone in the meantime.

Where do the folders that do not (or no longer) exist and are displayed in the app come from? And how do I delete these folders?

    Hi @Friedrich Vosberg

You can download the MFCMAPI tool to see if the problematic folders can be found there. If they do exist when you check it using MFCMAPI, you can follow the instructions in the link below to delete these unwanted folders:
Hide, move or delete an Outlook folder via MFCMAPI

In case this doesn't help, you can try contacting the in-app support for Outlook for iOS or visit the dedicated forum for Outlook mobile app via: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook_com/forum/outlk_mob
