Hi all,

We use Co-Management between SCCM and Intune.

We have a user who was on Medical Leave for a few months and now that they're back, when trying to sign into the computer they used to use before going on Leave, Windows Explorer starts flashing, all you can see is the Task Bar flashing, no desktop icons, and the computer is unusable. Opening Task Manager works (and doesn't flash) and we're able to sign out, but that's all we can do on his user account.

The issue seems to be localized only to this user, only on this computer. Other users can sign into the same computer without issues, and this user can sign into any other computer without issues.

The computer exhibiting the issue is shared with other users, so we can't take some of the more drastic measures (like wiping the PC) in order to fix this issue, it has to actually be fixed.

We tried removing the user account manually by deleting the user folder in C:\Users, and deleting the Registry Key associated with his user under "\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList"

Did that multiple times unsuccessfully.

Tried reinstalling the graphics driver, which was recommended online, also didn't have any impact.

Uninstalling updates didn't help, and there's no System Restore point to go to.

It kind of feels like maybe we're missing something when removing the user account, but the guides I'm finding online only mentions those two steps (Deleting the folder and the Reg key).

If anyone has any suggestions, or needs more info to be able to help properly, I will gladly provide.

Thanks in advance for any help :)
