Synapse pipeline failed while calling another pipeline. This has been failing intermittently since last 2-3 days. This code has been running good since past 18 months. But started getting this issue recently

Question

We have daisy chaining of Synapse pipelines, and this has been running smoothly in our production environment since last 18 months. Recently we've started noticing this issue. When a pipeline is called from another pipeline, we get this error message:

ErrorCode=FailedToGetAccessTokenByMI,'Type=Microsoft.DataTransfer.Common.Shared.HybridDeliveryException,Message=Failed to get MI access token.

Usually, we just restart the entire process and move on. But this happened frequently in last few days. Yesterday 5 times in a day -- which is not acceptable to our clients.

We are under region US-E2

Can someone please tell us what's the root cause and next actions steps to mitigate this recurring issue.

Thanks for reaching out to microsoft Q&A.

This looks like access token error from managed identity. Pls try to check the linked service and do a test connection. This might also be a error from azure side, if thats the case you will have to raise a case with ms support to confirm that.
