My organization is thinking of subscribing to OneLake(which I think on ADLS), or some other Microsoft datalake, but we have policy on some of the scenarios like Europe data can not be transferred out of europe. Is there a way of knowing the region of an OneLake's(ADLS) server center before getting the licence? It is of great importance to know this before getting into any subscription is starting.

Hi Joakim Westerbringakim , I want to help you with this question.

Due Azure OneLike is like a Sub-Service of Azure Fabric we have to look at the data location where a data fabric subscription is located. Most of the time it is the home region of your Directory/Tenant. But if your home region is currently not available yet, you have to create it in another available region of the preview.

    Hello @Joakim Westerbring

Yes, if North Europe is listed as an available region for Azure Data Lake Storage, it means that the cloud servers are located inside this region. Azure Data Lake Storage is a regional service, which means that the data is stored in the region that you specify when you create the storage account.

When you create an Azure Data Lake Storage account, you can choose the region where the data will be stored. If you choose North Europe as the region, then the data will be stored in the data centers located in that region. This means that the data used in the lake will never leave this region, unless you choose to replicate it to another region for disaster recovery purposes.

In summary, if North Europe is listed as an available region for Azure Data Lake Storage, it means that the cloud servers are located inside this region and the data used in the lake will never leave this region, unless you choose to replicate it to another region.

I hope this helps with you initial query! Please let us know if you need more help in this regard.
