Hello everyone !

In a long Word document the table of contents is generated over several pages, and certain parts are then cut off in the middle of the chapter titles.

=> example with 2 levels of titles in the table of contents :

Page 1 : TM1-TM2-TM2-TM2 ----- TM1-TM2-TM2

Page 2 : TM2 ----- TM1-TM2-TM2-TM2

My goal would be for page breaks to be automatically made without cutting a TM1-TM2 block (same for TM3-TM4...).

=> for the same example this would give :

Page 1: TM1-TM2-TM2-TM2

Page 2: TM1-TM2-TM2-TM2 ----- TM1-TM2-TM2-TM2

I tried several manipulations including the "solidarity paragraph" option but I cannot completely resolve the problem :

  • by applying "solidarity paragraph" to the TM1 style nothing changes
  • by applying "solidary paragraph" to the TM2 style, this level is no longer divided into 2 different pages ... but the corresponding TM1 remains alone on the previous page

=> for the same example this would give :

Page 1: TM1-TM2-TM2-TM2 ----- TM1

Page 2: TM2-TM2-TM2 ----- TM1-TM2-TM2-TM2

Do you know how to do this ?

Many thanks in advance for your help.

I don't know what you mean by a "solidarity paragraph".

The Table of Contents is an automatically generated field. You can add page breaks within the results from that field to force a break where you want it. Those breaks will disappear when the TOC is updated.

The alternative it to manually create a table of contents.
