I have issues described best in:

"C:\Users\XXXX\AppData\Local\Microsoft\VisualStudio\17.0_b10a675f\ComponentModelCache\Microsoft.VisualStudio.Default.err", and
"C:\Users\XXXX\AppData\Local\Microsoft\VisualStudio\17.0_b10a675f\ComponentModelCache\Microsoft.VisualStudio.Default.scan"

This is "fresh" installation of both VS 2022 Community and VS 2022 Community Preview. Ever the folders where the products were installed were deleted before last install (done couple of times).

Also, all .NET 3.1 and above were uninstalled either with their respective installer or with dotnet-core-uninstall.

The lines below indicate problems with the corresponding assemblies

Hello, please try to launch your Visual Studio 2022 in Safe Mode (run devenv /SafeMode in Developer Command Prompt for VS 2022). And check that the VS works properly.

Hello, please navigate to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\VisualStudio\Setup and check if the Microsoft.VisualStudio.Setup.Configuration.Native.dll file exists under x86 and x64 folders.

No such folder. The only folder that exists is "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\VisualStudio\Packages".

If it doesn’t exist, please go to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\VisualStudio\Packages,

navigate to the folder “Microsoft.VisualStudio.Setup.Configuration,version=xxxx”, try to manually run the file “Microsoft.VisualStudio.Setup.Configuration.msi”.

After this, the Microsoft.VisualStudio.Setup.Configuration.Native.dll will be installed in the Setup folder.

Then, you can repair your VS using Visual Studio Installer > More > Repair. And check if the VS works normally.

Your Package cache seems be corrupted.

Please manually delete the following folder and run Visual Studio installer as administrator to repair your installation, the setup engine will be scanning for these files during the installation and automatically re-downloading the required files.

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\VisualStudio\Packages\Microsoft.VisualStudio.Setup.Configuration,version=3.7.2174.19405

However the problem remains. The editor package fails to load correctly and despite text is visible and editable, lots of features are missing, incl. Options tab does not come up in Tools -> Options -> Text Editor:

Would you like to do a clean uninstallation and reinstall the VS again?

1. Manually delete any leftover install and cache folder you previously installed to

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio

%programdata%\Microsoft\visualstudio\packages

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio

C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\VisualStudio

2. Delete the setup registry key, which was set when you first installed(Maybe there is only one key, please check one by one.):

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\VisualStudio\Setup

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\VisualStudio\Setup

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\VisualStudio\Setup

3. Download the new bootstrapper file from https://visualstudio.microsoft.com/downloads/ and run it as administrator.

4. After this, please launch your VS as administrator and check that it works properly.

Hello, is your issue resolved? VS2022 version 17.7.5 has been released and you can update it.
