IE Mode does not work Microsoft Edge for Mac - drop down menu and slide bar does not appear when you select "default browser"

Question

All directions for Microsoft Edge for Mac for IE Mode state that after selecting "default browser" the "Slide the Allow sites to be reloaded in Internet Explorer toggle to ON." will appear but it does not appear. Other instructions state: select "default browser" and a drop down menu will appear allowing you to select IE mode and then restart the browser. That drop down menu never appears. I have tried Microsoft Edge for Mac on a Mac with Intel Chip version and Microsoft Edge for Mac on a Mac with Apple M Chip version. Same problem with both Edge Versions 117.0.....

Unfortunately, IE Mode is not available on Microsoft Edge for MacOS. IE mode on Chromium-Edge is a Windows specific feature, and it relies on Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) to function. If you don’t have IE11 installed, IE Mode will not work.

What is Internet Explorer (IE) mode?

There is no direct way to download Internet Explorer (IE) on a Mac since Microsoft discontinued the development of IE for Mac in 2003. It's recommended to use IE mode on WindowsOS.
