Windows Server 2019 Can't Be Pinged, But Can Ping

Hi Microsoft Support,

We have a Windows Server 2019 that despite having ICMP enabled and even the network being narrowed down to private, still cannot be pinged from another server; however, the Windows Server 2019 can ping.

When we turned off the Windows Server 2019's firewall, then it could be pinged by the same other server; however, this is not the route we want.

Is there another protocol in the Windows Server 2019's firewall that is preventing it from accepting pings?

We set the network to private and enabled the Windows Server 2019 to be network discoverable and even turned on share file printing.

Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much,
Sonny

    Just a friendly update.

Thank you very much for all your help Dave.

The issue was a firewall rule that someone else added to block a rdp service and in its scope listed the Problem Server. After removing the Problem Server's IP, it can ping the server we wanted.

Thank you very much for your time and efforts. They're greatly appreciated.

    Hi Dave,

    Thank you very much.

The ICMP is already enabled and this server can ping others.

An update on this issue now is:

When I change the server's IP to dynamic and restart, it can ping the server that it couldn't do before .250.

However, when I change the server's IP back to static, it can ping other servers; however, can't ping the .250 one again.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you very much,

    Sonny

    Sorry, updated correction.

When the Problem Server is set to dynamic IP, it can ping and is assigned .80.

When I set Problem Server to static and use the exact same .80 IP, it can ping.

When I set Problem Server's static IP from .80 back to what it was, .250, it can't ping.

Checked the working server and it is accepting all IP's for the ICMP.
