We have a client for whom we will be building several Azure resources (Storage, Cosmos DB, App Service etc). The client has added me as an External User to Entra, added me in a role assignment as an Owner to their subscription. He has also added me as an owner to a Storage Resource Group. I have confirmed the above with the client on a web meeting. This has been done over six hours ago.

Should I see this Resource Group in my own Azure Portal? I need a way to access the resources and begin development.

The Q & A Assist answer says yes I should see the resource in my portal.

Please advise.

    Hi Matt,

When you are given access to another tenant's resources you must use the switch directory feature:

When activating your subscription, your identity is created based on the email you use. That identity is either associated with your organization’s Active Directory tenant or a new directory tenant is created for that identity. You can see the identity you’re using in the upper right-hand side of your Azure portal.

A screenshot of the Azure portal with the identity highlighted in the upper right-hand corner.

From here, you can either switch identities or switch directories. You may need to change your identity to access certain directories.

If the identity you’re logged in as is associated with multiple directories, switch by selecting “Switch directory.” You'll see the directories your current identity is associated with.
