Hi,
I have deployed the Azure Synapse analytics workspace with private endpoints. Here is the screenshots.
Now I want to access the on-premise file share hosted in private IP address and environment is connected via express route. I am looking for step-by-step instructions to connect to onpremise file share via linked service and pick the file from adf.

- What is the current configuration of the ExpressRoute connection? Is it configured to allow traffic to the on-premises file share?
- What is the current configuration of the on-premises file share? Is it accessible via SMB or NFS protocol?

Thank you for your response.
Here are the detailed steps to use ADF linked services to connect to an SMB file share hosted on-premises and copy data to Azure Synapse Analytics via ExpressRoute for a private IP:- Install and configure the gateway to connect to the SMB file share hosted on-premises.
- Create an On-Premises File Server linked service in ADF that uses the gateway to connect to the SMB file share.
- Create an Azure Synapse Analytics linked service in ADF that uses the private endpoint for your storage account to connect to Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Create a pipeline in ADF that uses the On-Premises File Server linked service as the source and the Azure Synapse Analytics linked service as the sink.
- Configure the pipeline to use the private endpoint for your storage account to connect to the SMB file share.
