WSUS Server Switchover (WindowsServer2012R2 to WindowsServer2022)

Question

We are about to implement the switchover of a WSUS server as described in the title.

Since the OS versions of the old and new servers are far apart, we are considering switching with a new build.

At this point, we are considering the following switching procedure, but are there any precautions or concerns?

<Switchover procedure

(1) Build a new server (Windows Server 2022) with a temporary IP address.

(2) Set up WSUS function on the new server and receive updates from the Internet.

3. take the following actions when the timing is right

　 Shut down the old server (Windows Server 2012r2)

　 Change the IP address/host name of the new server (Windows Server 2022) to that of the old server

<Questions

If we build a new WSUS server and migrate it, is it possible to migrate it by following the above procedure?

The IP address/hostname will be changed on the new WSUS server in "3.

　(We do not think that this change of settings will cause any problems in WSUS.)
