Hi, not sure if the performance profiler works on a website project. When I tried to use it, it fired up several browsers and the spinny keeps running within vs2019. Perhaps I am not using it correctly?

I am trying to see which SQL database is being used by the project.

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

The performance profiler records and collects data then generates the report file for analyzing.

Normally, after you click to run the performance profiler, VS should start to collect data automatically and show following message. You can click "Stop collection" or exit your application to generate a report(.diagsession file). After that, check this report in VS directly.

You can select the specific time interval to check details when analyzing the generated .diagsession file.

Can you first confirm if your website project builds successfully and runs successfully without any error?
