Internal e-mails resulting in a '554 5.2.2 mailbox full' error: NamedPropsQuotaExceeded

Hi all, whenever we try to send e-mail's internally, we very often get the following error:

Remote server returned '554 5.2.2 mailbox full; STOREDRV.Deliver.Exception:QuotaExceededException.MapiExceptionNamedPropsQuotaExceeded;

This is never the case with people from outside our organisation e-mailing us. Those e-mails always get delivered.

I did a namedprops dump via MrMapi on the affected accounts and it returned this:

Detected 1 property sets with a large number of properties.This typically indicates the incorrect use of named properties by a custom application.Check the full list of properties in the property set(s) listed below to help identify the application at fault.{00020329-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} = PS_PUBLIC_STRINGS

We already increased the quota via MS support several times, but cant seem to find the app or plugin which keeps writing these strings/property's, causing the quota to exceed.

Anyone has a tip how we can find which app or plugin is causing this? We can offcourse migrate the affected inboxes and start clean, but it's just a matter of time that it will exceed the quota again.

    Hi @Maikel ,

    I tried searching a lot but so far haven't find any method to directly find out which app is adding the named properties.

    whenever we try to send e-mail's internally

    Is this affecting all users in your tenant, or it only occurs when the message is sent to some particular internal recipients?
    Can the same problematic mail be sent to and received by external recipients properly?
    If it's a suddenly occurred problem, is there any third-party plugin or software implemented recently which may update messages with custom properties?

    A quick search on the GUID included in the output of MRMAPI led me to this article. From the information there, it seems that the GUID could be related to Outlook custom forms. So, do you have any idea about whether the users are using any custom forms in Outlook?

    Furthermore, if currently all users are using the Outlook client to send or receive mails, you can try testing by using OWA instead and see if the internal mails can be received without error.
