Why would LDAP be implemented in ms azure ad. Would there be a need for LDAP. As I understand it LDAP is not supported directly in azure AD correct. Microsoft has it own security authentication LDAP is not required can someone explain?

I can only guess you are referring to Azure AD Connects capability to connect to LDAP Servers?
