How to activate sandbox with an associated alias account

I have one account with an alias associated with it. However, when I activate sandbox, I get a review permissions message. If I click "switch accounts" to the alias email, there is a message to retry again. How can I get the alias email working as it is associated with the same account?

    "In the Settings page under the Account Management, you will be able to switch between your alias accounts."

    I dont see the option to switch

    The issue is fixed now and live in production. Tested with legacy Hotmail account that has a primary outlook alias.
