Manually downgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 11 using a W10 home iso. Noticed I had no touchpad control and then looked at my settings where touchpad settings were completely removed. I have another laptop with Windows 10, with the touchpad settings and a functioning touchpad.

Laptop model is Acer Predator PHN16-71. Bought it a month ago.

Solutions already tried and failed:

  1. Going into bios and setting to default settings
  2. Going into UEFI and setting firmware to default settings
  3. Turning the specific touchpad button on laptop keypad on and off
  4. Checking to see if mouse options had touchpad settings
  5. Installing touchpad driver for specific acer model
  6. Updating mouse drivers to most current version under device manager
  7. Uninstalling/removing mouse pad and reinstalling and updating mouse.
  8. Checking to see if touchpad was in the device manager hidden or otherwise(legacy hardware)
  9. Microsoft store won't let me download any touchpad apps(A separate different problem)

And yes, I restarted after trying solution. Thanks in advance.

    Hello

I understand that you’re having trouble with your touchpad settings after downgrading from Windows 11 to Windows 10. You’ve already tried a number of solutions, which is great. Here are a few more suggestions that might help:

Windows Update: Ensure that your system is up-to-date with the latest patches and updates.

Device Manager: Press Windows key + X and go to Device Manager. Click Action and Scan for Hardware Changes. Check if the HID touchpad appears.

Touchpad Software: Some touchpad software installs a tab onto the Mouse properties box, usually the last one, that should have more settings to check.

Manufacturer’s Website: Visit Acer’s official website and look for any specific touchpad drivers for your Acer Predator PHN16-71 model.

Windows 10 Touchpad Settings: Go to Settings > Devices > Touchpad to check the settings.

Please remember to restart your computer after trying these solutions. If the issue persists, you may want to consider reaching out to Acer’s customer support for more specific assistance.
