Multifactor Authentication QR code reset

I have a user who has installed Microsoft Authenticator on their phone and who has set up an account for Multi-factor Authentication in it. However, at login no code is sent to their device. Scanning the QR code to set up MFA results in an error similar to 'this QR code has already been used'. Is the way to fix this having them delete the account on their device and then force the user to Require re-register multi factor authentication in the Entra admin center? Thanks in advance.

Yes, this is the simplest and probably the only method.
