I am changing the servers of web application and moving the application from older to new server. As part of this I need to repoint the website (hosted on IIS) to new server IP address. Anyone can help me to know about this DNS update?

You can update the domain registrar with the new ip address of website.

The only one record for the new IP is type of record A. So, for updating domain settings should I create a Host record and remove A record from the IP?
Is this for intranet within your domain? or is the web server access via internet?

Ok, in that case you could just create a new static A record, or in case there is already one you can edit it.
