How do I create an email address for my printer

I have a problem with my Xerox printer that I cannot scan to emails.

After doing some research I think the problem is that we do not have an email address set for the printer, hence the reason for the problem. I have the SMTP server name and port number and can log onto the web printer settings as admin to set things up.

Outlook forum advised to post here as this seems to be an Outlook and printer issues. If anyone can advise on how to fix this please let me know.

    Hi

    If you can't send email from your Xerox please validate your SMTP setting.

    If a SMTP on O365, please be advised the email account need to be activated to use SMTP and the Xerox must be able to perform modern authentication.

    If a SMTP on your ISP, or a third part SMTP address, you can send from any email usually (like; no-reply@domain.com), but you might fail a SPF check and fall into the spambox automaticly.

    Hi Philippe,

    Sorry this is going over my head a little, I have no IT background. How do I go about firstly creating the printer email address as I cannot find this on settings anywhere? As the main problem is that scanned documents go nowhere even if you put an email address in.
