How do I solve microsoft authenticator errors or get technical support for this

Question

In the past I used MS authenticator for 2FS without problem. Recently, I get this error using the app on my mobile: NO NETWORK CONNECTION. Add account failed. Please check your internet connection and try again.

I tried uninstalling, reinstalling, and now I can't get anywhere because of the same error problem. I tried a different phone and got the same problem (?!) I have checked the internet connection. I've used all the troubleshooting suggestions posted by MS. I would actually just like to NOT use this app at all in future. BUT for the moment, I am literally chained to it and I can't break free of it.
