Hello,

Please advise on below:

According to https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-desktop/azure-stack-hci Azure Arc VM management is one of the prerequisites for Azure Virtual Desktop on Azure Stack HCI.

But here https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure-stack/hci/manage/azure-arc-vm-management-networking#current-limitations

it says:

  • Azure Arc VMs are currently not supported with Software Defined Networking (SDN). The Azure Arc Resource Bridge can be deployed on a physical network when the Azure Stack HCI cluster is configured with SDN.
  • Using Azure Arc VMs behind a network proxy server isn't supported; however, using an Arc Resource Bridge behind a network proxy is supported.

Does this mean that it's not possible to use AVD VMs in SDN and behind a proxy?

The term "Azure Arc VM" is confusing, does it mean VMs that are managed/deployed via Azure Arc or management VMs like resource bridge VMs etc.?

Will appreciate any help.

Azure Virtual Desktop
Azure Virtual Desktop
A Microsoft desktop and app virtualization service that runs on Azure. Previously known as Windows Virtual Desktop.

@gata Based on the information in the Azure Stack HCI documentation, it's not possible to use AVD VMs in SDN and behind a proxy.
