Unable to change metric-resolution of metric-server deployment

I also have the same question, facing same issue when I try to add "--metric-resolution=15s" parameter to deployment file of metric-server and update the deployment. It automatically rollbacks to default one.

Is this change possible now? Is there any way to apply metric resolution parameter ?

    Hello, @Ritika Laddha !

Can I configure AKS system components?

I reached out to the AKS team and they told me that this is not supported (and there are no future plans for support). In order to ensure the SLOs and Quality of Service, AKS needs to control the parameters of these components and prevent any incorrect configuration that can compromise the cluster.

In regards to the specific metric server time sync, usually these requests have unintended consequences. While 15 is faster than 60, it also requires a pod that is 4 times larger and will result in a respective cost increase in certain situations (among other things).

If you have a specific use case you feel is worth putting forward a feature request, I'd be happy to help you create that request on https://feedback.azure.com/.

I hope this has been helpful! Your feedback is important so please take a moment to accept answers.
