Hi,

I am using Azure Open AI api with BYOD and some times i am getting the error

"Failed to execute semantic request because the request rate has caused your service to exceed the limits of its provisioned capacity. Reduce the rate of requests, or adjust the number of replicas/partitions"

I am not sure how to check the Azure Cognitive Search (Semantic Search Preview) Usage. I have the limit 1000 request per month. But there is no way to see how many requests i have made for this month. How do i check the usage of Semantic search requests and how much is left in the selected quota.

Cognitive search does not have built-in tracking or reporting for usage and request limits directly in the Azure portal. However, you can monitor and estimate your service usage by setting up your own logging and monitoring.

To see how many requests you have sent so far using the free availability of Azure Cognitive Search's semantic search feature, you can use the Azure portal or the Azure Cognitive Search REST API.

Azure portal

Open the Azure portal and navigate to your Azure Cognitive Search resource.

Click on the "Usage + quotas" tab.

Under the "Search units" section, you will see the number of requests you have made so far this month.

Azure Cognitive Search REST API

Send a GET request to the following endpoint, replacing {your-search-service-name} with the name of your Azure Cognitive Search service:

https://{your-search-service-name}.search.windows.net/monitoring/usage?api-version=2020-06-30

Include an api-key header with your API key as the value.

The response will include a value array that contains usage information for the current month. Look for the semanticSearchRequests property to see how many requests you have made so far this month.

There is no usage & quota tab. and the get rest api return with http 404 error.

I reached out to the ACS engineering team and they confirmed like Azar mentioned that there is currently no way to track usage in ACS. However, this a feature on their roadmap and they are working to release this feature in the future
