What is the character limit in ProxyOverride in GPO?

There are conflicting sources online which mentions the limit is either 255, 1024 or 2064 characters as a limit when inputting URLs into the ProxyOverride in Group Policy Editor.

    It depends on the version of the operating system. I'm assuming that since some service pack of Windows Server 2003, expands the list to 1024 characters.
