Hello,

Does anyone know how to remove restricted user for an shadow email? Our company has a shared email account which is not an "actual email", we need to click in the right upper corner on outlook and select "open another mailbox" to access this email.

We recently received messages in this shared email that says "Delivery has failed to these recipients or groups:... This message couldn't be delivered because the sending email address was not recognized as a valid sender. The most common reason for this error is that the email address is, or was, suspected of sending spam. Contact the organization's email admin for help and give them this error message."

I did some research and found out that this is because the email was listed as restricted users in office 365. But whenever I tried to go to the Microsoft 365 Defender Portal, it led me to my own email account.

    Hi @VANESSA JIANG ,

According to my research, you must be a global administrator or a security administrator in Microsoft Entra ID to access Microsoft 365 Defender. For the list of roles required to use Microsoft 365 Defender and information on how access to data is regulated, read about managing access to Microsoft 365 Defender.

Go directly to the Restricted entities page, use https://security.microsoft.com/restrictedentities

More information, see: Remove blocked users from the Restricted entities page
