In MS Teams I belong to my home organisation plus an External organisation as a guest. I can use my home organisation fine and it often asks me to login via the MS Authenticator App.

However when I try to log into the External Organisation, It tries to send me a code via Authenticator, but it doesn't appear on my phone. Also there is no option to receive a call or text So I can no longer log in to that organisation. The external company used to appear listed as an account on my Authenticator app, but has now gone.

I've tried to leave the external organisation, but to do that it asks me to authenticate, which I cant do!

How can I log in, or leave the Organisation, when Autenticator wont work? Or how can I get authenticator workign again?

FYI: I've seen this issue raised in 2 - 3 places over a few years, but no solution has been given.

I do not want to use authenticate app - it is too complicated and takes time. It is just a waste of time. It would be appreciated if you solve it in a. different way

    Hi @Humphreys, Oliver (EPLWG)

Based on your description, you can try to sign in to Teams online using a browser like Chrome or Edge and see if you can access your account.

Otherwise, could you provide the relevant error message or screenshot when Authenticator won't work? Here are some possible solutions when logging in to Teams with the Authenticator that you can try:

    • Make sure your device’s date and time are correct firstly, which can cause the authentication token to expire.
    • Restart the computer to supply a new modern authentication token and try to sign in again. Sign out, and then sign in again using the old (or incorrect) credentials. After it fails, enter in your correct credentials.
    • Delete all accounts from the Authenticator app and log in to your account again using the Device Registration option in the app settings.

Hope the above information is helpful for you!
