Why I can't renew my student benefits?

A few months ago (June/July), my 12-month free service period + $100 Azure credits expired. To keep using some of the services I was using at that time, I updated my subscription to pay-as-you-go. Recently, I found out that it is possible to renew the benefits, so I would like to apply for that renewal. I followed the instructions in the documentation (signup with the email that was used the first time), but I received the following message: “unable to renew azure for students, please try again shortly or contact us”.

I wonder if this is because I updated my subscription or because I did not renew it before the end of the 12 months. I look forward to hearing from you.
