How to MERGE sub-folder in Outlook 365 / Windows version

I had computer glitch (Win11 on a PC). Had to re-install programs. No real issues.
Probably as a result of my stupidity, in cleaning up 365/Outlook, I have zillions of items in folder "Merge".
I cannot move/delete anything from this folder as a result of "insufficient permissions" etc. I can more or delete from any other folder.
Please guide as to how I can clean up this folder.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

What is your account type (POP/IMAP/Exchange)?
As far as I know, the Outlook client doesn't have a direct option to merge folders, how do you merge folders?
Is "Insufficient Permissions" an error when you clean up a folder? Can you provide a specific error message or screenshot? Please pay attention to overwriting your personal privacy information.

I have had other issues which even MS thought (long chat) was due to me having a developer issue of 365, but which have transpired to be a corrupted Chrome browser. That is sorted and that has itself sorted out the locking issues in Outlook. But I have no idea why/how/or is there any intelligent life here ............. :-) Thanks!

Can you provide detailed information for the following questions for better research?
In general, you can try to change browsers to check if there is the same situation to see if it is related to the browser issue.
