How can I change the DNS of a cluster SQL without impact my services?

I would like to know what would be the best practice to follow in a domain name change from an ADDS with a custom DNS to another ADDS with a new domain name. What happen when you have a cluster with 3 SQL Servers? What implications can we have? How is the process to change the DNS to a new one, including change of ADDS? How this can affect my databases and services? The IP addresses will remain the same.

    Hi @Anielka Oliveros Garcia

    Sorry for the delay.

You should remove the cluster before to be able to move SQL server to another domain.

For this kind of migration , it's recommended to follow these steps:

    • Remove SQL cluster in old domain
    • Migrate SQL servers to new domain
    • Rebuild cluster in new domain
