Intune device enrollment 403 not available

Andy Smith 0 Reputation points

I am trying to follow this guide:

This is my first time working with Intune, and I am not very familiar with Azure generally. I think I may be missing some prerequisite service. Are any paid subscriptions required to use Intune? If I try and access the Enroll Devices section of Intune I am seeing the attached 403 error.

Can anyone suggest what I need to do to get this working? Is there any how to guide I should be following?

thanks in advance, Andy.

Hi Andy, What you are trying to do ? You would require Intune Administrator or Global Admin role to be able to access the features and services within Intune admin center.

@Andy Smith, Thanks for posting in Q&A. For the error message, it shows permission issue. Please check if the account you sign in has Intune Administrator or Global administrator role which mentioned by JM.

In Fact, Intune is a cloud service which helps to manage device, manage app and etc.

To let the devices to be managed by Intune, we need to enroll the device into Intune. Currently there are many enrollment methods for different scenario. You can see more details in the following link:

Meanwhile, to enroll device into Intune, we need to assign Microsoft Intune license to the user who will do the enrollment.

I find you are new to Intune. You can read the articles in the following link to know more about intune:

Thanks both for your replies. My goal is to be able to add devices to Intune. The account I am using currently has these permissions (sorry, should have included this info intially):

To Enroll a device into Intune, There are several methods. Make sure the Enrollment Restrictions allow the type of device you are enrolling into Intune. Also, make sure you have MDM user scope configured for Automatic Enrollment into Intune. After that, you can use any of the below methods:

    1. Using Settings App > Accounts > Access work or school > Connect
    2. Enroll your devices in Intune during AutoPilot.
    3. Using a Company Portal App.

    Hi JM,

thanks for your message. Unfortunately I cannot access Enrollment Restrictions as I am getting the 403 error the same as the error I mentioned in my initial question.

    thanks, Andy.
