Hi,

Pls. check the Availability Set depicted in the diagram referenced at the link: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/training/modules/describe-high-availability-disaster-recovery-strategies/6-explore-iaas-high-availability-disaster-recovery-solution

Section: Single Region High Availability Example 1 – Always On availability groups

Assuming DC-1 and DC-2 are representing two distinct data centers in two locations. As scope of the Availability Set is to address Azure level environmental issues (e.g. hardware failure, power failure, networking failures etc. within a data center), please check whether the above depiction is correct.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Ganesh.

    Hi GaneshBaladhandapani-2317,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q & A forum.

An Availability Set is a logical grouping capability for isolating VM resources from each other when they're deployed. Azure makes sure that the VMs you place within an Availability Set run across multiple physical servers, compute racks, storage units, and network switches. If a hardware or software failure happens, only a subset of your VMs are impacted and your overall solution stays operational. Availability Sets are essential for building reliable cloud solutions.

Condition: Single Region High Availability Example 1 – Always On availability groups:

As per the documentation in a single Azure region, you usually have multiple datacenters or Availability Zones (AZs) within that region.

The configuration depicted above accurately represents the architecture based on the given conditions is correct.
