How to deploy the Azure VMware disaster recovery using ASR without vCenter?

Partners have a lot of project experience supported by VMware, in the past projects, VMware environment need to have vCenter as the host management platform, in such an environment, partners have completed the implementation of multiple projects, this technology is very familiar, but in some customer environments, Since the customer is not using vCenter to manage VMware hosts, the partner wants to know if ASR can still be used as a fallback in this scenario (as it is with vCenter), or what is the difference compared to an environment with vCenter? 

 

Sincce the docs have a screenshot, it can be seen that the vCenter information needs to be input when configoring backup device. it means the vCenter is MUST need?
