Can you edit the Documents Page on a SharePoint Portal

Question

Hi! I have recently created a SharePoint Portal where our clients will be able to view their documents. I have designed a home page using one of the templates on SharePoint, however, I wanted to know if you can create any designs or use any templates for the documents tab? It doesn't seem like I can change anything other than the header and footer but I just wanted to check.

I am not quite sure what you mean by the documents tab. Can you share me a screenshot of this the documents tab and describe in detail how you want to customize it?

Perhaps you are trying to add and use document templates in the document library? If so, you can refer to this article: Set a custom template for a SharePoint library.

Thank you for posting in this community.

Unfortunately, we don't have an out-of-the-box way to modify the content displayed in your images. These are designed by SharePoint. Also, I don't recommend you to modify this section because this part of the GUI is related to the implementation of the SharePoint File Library functionality and I'm afraid that if you modify it, your file library won't be able to work properly.

Maybe you are trying to hide some function buttons on the toolbar, please try follow:

1. Navigate to the list or document library >> Click on the View dropdown and choose “Format current view” >> Click on “Advanced Mode”.
2. For example, paste the JSON below to hide the New button from the toolbar.
