What is the ETA on opening up Azure AI Document Intelligence 2023-10-31-preview for custom models?

I need to build something that allows use of excel spreadsheets as well as PDFs. As it currently stands I'll need to convert excel sheets into PDFs using a Python script before sending them over to Document Intelligence. When would I likely get work with 2023-10-31-preview so that it can process Microsoft document files natively? Trying to gauge whether I should wait for a bit and give the client something good to go or carry on with converting to PDFs. This is for a research project with a business client and I'm working to a deadline...

I've launched a custom model with 2023-10-31-preview and obviously that still doesn't support the feature for getting office documents. Converting to PDFs is probably leading to a lot of errors in the model I'm trying to train. Not asking for an ETA but I just want to confirm for my research that Document Intelligence custom models will one day support excel files and other office formats? Many thanks.
