How do I fix partial backup issue in Win 10?

Hi, I just bought a new dell laptop, and windows 11 for it. My current dell has windows 10. I just tried to back up all my files using the Windows back up feature, but it only partially backed up my files, so I'm stuck. Have worked on this for hours, to no avail. Was thinking of doing a manual backup onto a new thumb drive to get around this. Thoughts? Tia

Hi Jane Considine,

Open Control Panel and select "Backup and Restore (Windows 7)". Select all the disks in set up if you perform a full backup. This will create a scheduled backup task for you.
