When are stats such as sys.dm_exec_procedure_stats reset in an Azure SQL managed instance?

When are stats such as sys.dm_exec_procedure_stats reset in an Azure SQL managed instance?

Researching performance issues and stored procedure usage. Querying sys.dm_exec_procedure_stats shows only a short timeframe available, perhaps days. What can be done to expand timeframe or at least know when the stats will be reset?

I think since it's a DMV that whenever the instance fails over to another node (i.e. we do patching etc.) the statistics are reset. You would have to have a job that writes the data to a table periodically if you wanted to persist the data if it's not in query store.
