.NET MAUI Hybrid Razor Template App Freezes on macOS

I am using the C# Dev Kit VS Code extension to create a .NET MAUI Blazor Hybrid Template app on macOS. I'm running XCode 14.2 and mac 12.7.1.
When I create the template app and run it on VS Code with macOS set as my debug target, the build is successful, but the app says 'application not responding' and freezes. The call stack also shows the image below. The regular .NET MAUI template app runs fine, and the .NET MAUI Blazor Hybrid Template app also runs fine on both Windows and Simulator for iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Any ideas why I am getting this exception thrown when running on macOS?

Also check that the versions of Xcode, macOS, and the .NET MAUI Blazor Hybrid Template app are fully compatible. Sometimes, certain versions may have compatibility issues.
